WINE CLASSES
Ever thought about learning the difference
between ripasso and passito? Or, how you can
make white wine from red grapes?
OTTO VINO classes are held in the Enoteca
at our standing bar tables and run at about an hour and a half depending on the course schedule. Saturday's lecture-based courses are led by Wine Director Ferrian Shapiro and include active participation from the class. Chief Sommelier Marcos Ruiz's Sunday courses are conducted in a more social setting, moving from table to table for more one-on-one discussion. See below for the varying events and schedule.

Ultimate Wine Tasting: Italian Food & Wine Pairing
The task of selecting a great wine to compliment your meal is a daunting one for many. How do you know what to choose? Join us on Saturday, May 10th at 3:00 as Chief Sommelier Marcos Ruiz reveals the mystery behind picking the perfect glass of wine to go with what you eat. We will feature highlights of the Otto menu as well as our wine list, discussing different grape varietals and which foods help develop the flavors for each varietal. You may enter a novice but will leave with the knowledge of how to transform any meal from common to exceptional with a simple pour.

Ultimate Wine Tasting: Veneto
Venice may bring visions of romantic gondola rides through the canals, but the region surrounding it is even more interesting if you love Italian wines. Veneto counts over 20 DOC zones and a variety of sub-categories. Many of its wines, both dry and spumanti, are internationally known and appreciated. What are some of the wines that you can share from the Veneto region? Join us on May 10th to taste your way through Prosecco, Soave, and Amerone from one of the foremost wine-producing regions, both for quality and quantity.
